Once you’ve got your Hassle.com cleaner and more free time, what next? Ahh, we’ve got that covered too. Folks of Manchester, it’s time to swap the broom for a Bloody Mary and read our top recommendations of things to do in Manchester.

1) Relax in one of Manchester’s awesome parks.

Manchester boasts loads of great green spaces and parks (we’re pretty spoiled that way!). Our top favourites are Fletcher Moss, Heaton Park and Wythenshawe Park. The perfect place to explore and chill out on a sunny Summer day!

2) Libraries

Hear us out…While a trip to the library might not sound like the most exciting way to spend your time, you would be wrong to pass up the opportunity to visit some of the libraries in Manchester.

The Manchester Central Library has just undergone a £50 million refurbishment and boasts some wonderful 1930s architecture. And not too far down the road there’s the John Rylands Library which looks more like a castle than a library with it’s Victorian Gothic architecture.

If that isn’t enough library then Chetham’s Library and The Portico Library and Gallery are also great for a nosey around. For those who appreciate a good bookshelf and some inspiring architecture, these are all must visits.

3) Breakout

Looking for something a bit more fast paced? Manchester’s recently opened Breakout is a live escape room game.

You get locked in a room with your team and have to escape by solving a series of puzzles and mysteries. You have one hour to do it in – better than an hour of cleaning, right?

4) Canals

Ian Brown once famously said ‘Manchester has everything except a beach’. Well, who needs beaches when you have canals.

There are plenty of walks along the waterways with some great pubs to stop off at too, especially around the Castlefields area. Feeling even more adventurous? Why not hire a canal boat for the day?

5) Friday Food Fight

This list wouldn’t be complete without food. Friday Food Fight is the place to go if you want to get a sample of the best food that Manchester has to offer. Every Friday night the Victoria Warehouse plays host to a rotating line-up of the best food venues and street food traders of Manchester. With a side of awesome drinks, edgy warehouse environment and live DJ’s, what’s not to love?

6) Air Raid Shelters

Take a short train to Stockport and explore the World War 2 air raid shelters. They were the largest civilian air raid shelters in the country, proving shelter for 6,500 people during the war. Take a step back in time and experience life in 1940’s war-torn Britain.

7) Your Favourite Restaurant… At home?

Ok, ok, we know. It’s Manchester. That means it’s not always going to be sunny. For those days where it’s looking more like the depths of Winter than the height of Summer, why not kick back, put on an episode of Corrie and order-in from your favourite local restaurant?
