Top tips for keeping your customers happy

Keeping your customers happy is key to being a successful cleaner. We know all customers are different and have different expectations (as we’re sure you do too).

It’s really important to listen to your customer’s needs and to make sure that you are on the same page when it comes to priorities. If you are ever unsure always ask, they will appreciate that you are trying to do the best job for them.

We have pulled together a list of tips for general house clean. Then we’ll leave it to you, to add your own special touch!


The Kitchen

  • Dust and wipe all surfaces including skirting boards. Ensure to move all objects (toasters, microwaves etc.) to clean under them. Simply cleaning around them won’t do.
  • Wash all the dishes and shine up the sink after you have finished to ensure no water marks are left.
  • Clean inside the microwave to remove any stains or splashes.
  • Polish any stainless steel, using the correct product.
  • Deep clean all surfaces, oven tops and knobs.
  • Wipe down the front of the fridge and the cupboard doors.
  • Remove all rubbish from bins and recycle where possible.


Bedroom and general areas

  • Dust and wipe all surfaces including the skirting boards. Move objects such as books, jewellery boxes with care and clean under them. Please ensure to place the items back as you found them.
  • Clean mirrors and fixtures taking care to remove smudge marks.
  • Make the bed and change the sheets if the customer has asked you to.
  • Fluff pillows/ cushions to make the sofa/bed look even better.
  • Dust and wipe chairs, bedside tables, coffee tables, shelves, dresser and window sills.
  • Vacuum/ brush and mop the floor.
  • Remove all rubbish from bins.


The Bathroom

  • Dust and wipe all surfaces ensuring to move shampoo bottles, toothpaste, toothbrushes etc.
  • Clean mirrors and fixtures to ensure no smudges are left.
  • Wipe and polish showers and baths so they sparkle while also removing any limescale.
  • Wipe the sink, removing any toothpaste, hair and limescale.
  • Vacuum/ brush and mop the floor.
  • Remove rubbish from all bins.



The Toilet

  • Flush and reduce the water line, then pour cleaner under the rim and around the toilet bowl. Close the lid.
  • To reduce the water level, push toilet brush into the bowl towards the back pipe. Repeat two or three times.
  • Begin my cleaning the top chamber of the toilet, remembering to clean the handle.
  • Work your way down, cleaning the toilet lid, seats and finally the stand, around the back and surrounding pipes.
  • Using the toilet brush, scrub the inside of the bowl until your cleaner lathers. Remember to pay close attention to under the rim and the waterline.
  • Wipe or rinse any remaining lather from inside the toilet bowl.
  • Lastly sweep and mop your way out.
